Bird Hunting
Come fall, the opportunity to chase the 'king' and 'prince' of game birds becomes possible. Walking and exploring the woods in search of ruffed grouse and woodcock, with the help of a pointing dog, is one of the most fun hunting opportunities you can get in Michigan. Watching Redd, a German Shorthaired Pointer, or Luna an English Setter lock up on scent of a ruffed grouse or woodcock is just as exhilarating as walking up to the dogs and seeing the flush of a bird come up right in front of you.
Flyfishing
In Northern Michigan there are more rivers and streams than you could ever fish in a lifetime. Some of the nation's best trout streams are located right here in Northern Michigan. Whether you're after big brown trout, feisty rainbows or the state's fish, the brook trout, there's a body of water for you. Trips can be wade trips, half days or full days.
Prices
Upland hunts generally start in the morning, but evening hunts are common early in the season. When October cool air comes around, hunting can be done throughout the day. A simple tailgate lunch is provided for full day hunts. Price is $475/day for two hunters. *A 50% deposit is needed to hold your date, due at time of booking. The remaining 50% is due at time of trip. No refunds once dates are set.*
Flyfishing trips are offered in half day trips, full day trips, or wade/instructional trips. Dinner or lunch is provided with full day trips. Snacks and drinks are provided on wade trips and half day trips. For float trips, the option to float in an AuSable river boat or Stealthcraft drift boat is yours. 'Hex' floats are full days only. Full day trips: $500; Half days: $375 ; Off-season streamer session (October-April): $400
Wade/Instructional trips: $275 + $35 per additional angler. All float prices include two anglers. All gear, including flies, are included with the trip price. Anglers are encouraged to bring their own rod(s) if they are comfortable with them. *A 50% deposit is needed to hold your date, due at time of booking. The remaining 50% is due at time of trip. Group Trips
Group trips are available for more than two anglers or hunters. If you have a larger group do not hesitate to inquire. We can accommodate using multiple boats and guides.
Conservation Discount
A discount will be given to a client who is a member of either Ruffed Grouse Society or Trout Unlimited. The discount will be $35 off the listed price of the trip. All that is needed is proof of membership the day of your trip.
